WHAT IS NONVIOLENT COMMUNICATION

Nonviolent Communication (NVC), also known as Compassionate Communication,  offers us a practice and consciousness which cultivates and builds peace. Peace within ourselves and peaceful connection with others.  It reacquaints us with our natural compassionate nature which is inherent in our human condition. It supports wholehearted living by becoming more fully acquainted with what we are longing to bring forth in our lives and gives us the processes to make that a reality.  NVC offers us a compassionate language, through a literacy of feelings and needs, giving us a tenderness of approach to all that is alive for us and all that is alive in others.

If you would like more clarity about your life's direction, if you would like support with 'making sense of things', if you would like to build more loving relationships with others, NVC can provide a pathway.

Marshall B Rosenberg PhD, the founder of Nonviolent Communication, put it like this;

"Human beings have enormous power to enrich life. We can use words to contribute to people’s enjoyment, their wisdom. We can use words that can make life miserable for people. So our words are very powerful. We can touch people in ways that give great pleasure, great nurturing, support. We are powerhouses, and there’s nothing we enjoy doing more than to use that power we have to enrich lives. So isn’t it wonderful that we have this power and the joy it brings when we use it? That’s to be celebrated. Wow! And the more we celebrate that, the less we will be willing to do anything else."

— Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD
