FROM 'SEEKING' TO 'BEING'

Saturday 18th Of May

There is an energy within all of  us that is constantly seeking fulfilment.  This energy does this through the life force in our needs. It may show up as a longing for comfort, for belonging, for warmth, for adventure, for joy and many other yearnings.

Nonviolent communication draws us towards this life force, gives us a process within which we can name it, welcome it and ultimately respond to it. It is through this practice of self-responsibility, self-care and self-compassion that peace becomes possible for ourselves and for others.  But oh how common it is for we human beings to long for this fulfilment from outside of ourselves. So how do we bring the fullness of our longings to others?

Is there something you are longing for that sits like an ache in your body?  Maybe even something you have tried several times to bring about in your life? During this workshop we will take time to be with those life impulses, the images of things that you hold as the way to make your life wonderful.  It's a chance to check and experience what qualities they represent; to explore ways of bringing them into your life.

There is a part of our brain that is referred to as the  'Seeking Circuit'(so named by the Neuroscientist Jaak Panksepp). It tells us how we are innately driven to engage with the world. It allows us to pursue our deepest personal and spiritual longings.

This workshop is about exploring these inner and outer worlds.  Through listening to how our life energy calls us, and exploring how we might nurture this energy ourselves, we may get a glimpse of what might be possible within our relationships and communities.  NVC supports us to find the resilience and 'strong back' to undertake the tasks and conversations we have so far imagined were out of our reach.  Often, when approaching our inner experience, fear is uppermost.

During this workshop we will explore three aspects of Nonviolent Communication:

The Seeking Aspect Of Our Longings - The Interconnectedness Of All - Asking Others To Contribute To Our Lives

This workshop will bring you the NVC consciousness and practices that make a friend of what's alive in us and unfold the mystery of what it is asking of us in order to live this one precious life to the full.
